The Work Today

We preserve the cultural and political history within Warren County
  • In 2012, we established the historical marker for the anti-PCB protests
  • We host commemorative celebrations honoring the protests of 1982
  • We document our own history through oral history interviews, documentaries, and telling our story.
We uplift our community right here in Warren County through partnerships
  • In 2023, we partnered with the Black Farmers Hub and the Haliwa-Saponi Boys and Girls Club to facilitate a blended drumming circle
  • Partnered with UNC Gillings to develop our Environmental Sciences and Water Evaluation Tool Kit
We are working on a Center of Excellence
  • A learning and community center rooted in EJ values
  • citizen science resources
  • green jobs and green job training

WCEAT has kept a vision for whole health communities that has been ignited throughout history, and we will bring it into the future.
